Abstract

The publication is devoted to the content of recently declassified archival and investigative files (hereinafter - ASD) from the funds of the Central archive of the FSB of Russia on employees of the Central apparatus of the NKVD of the USSR in the 1930s - I.I. Shapiro, S. Ya. Zubkin, V.A. Ulmer and E.P. Salyn. A number of fragments from the “Summary report of the NKVD of the USSR on the number of people arrested and convicted in 1936-1938”, deliberately hidden by N.I. Ezhov from the leadership of the Soviet state, are used. New sources are named for the previously unknown attempt on Stalin, the military operation in Sinjiang of China and other documents from the Central archive funds of the FSB of the Russian Federation, revealed as a result of studying the named ASD. The full text of these and other documents from the Central Federal security service of Russia, expanding the source base of the history of Stalinism, is published by the author in the new monograph «Secrets of the archives of the NKVD of the USSR: 1937-1938. View from the inside” (M. 1920).
