Abstract
We present a counterexample to the conjecture that the 't Hooft indices for composite models satisfying complementarity are bounded in magnitude by 1. The model is based on the metacolor group SU(9${)}_{\mathrm{MC}}$ with two preons in the representation 36 and two preons in the representation 126\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}. We obtain the 't Hooft index 12 for this model.
