Abstract
ABSTRACTThe Health Sciences Library at St. Joseph’s Healthcare System wanted to begin digitizing the hospital archives in order to increase access and usability. The library staff chose to use the existing online public access catalog (OPAC). This article explains the staff’s reasoning and outlines their procedures. Archiving hospital newsletters enabled the staff to use the OPAC to locate information and images needed for the hospital’s 150th anniversary celebration and enhanced the library’s perception as a valuable resource.
