Abstract
The Western North Carolina Library Network is comprised of three of the constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina system: Appalachian State University, Western Carolina University and the University of North Carolina at Asheville. This article describes the network and basic routines performed on archive tapes to prepare them for a local system. The initial procedures are the same for single or networked institutions. Network considerations such as scquence of loading, "master record," and AACR2 are discussed. A cost summary is provided as an appendix.
