Abstract

Japan, which is an area of distinctive architecture, demonstrates the continuity of traditions in the construction of buildings and structures. It was the consistent transformation of the construction experience that shaped the XX – early XXI centuries the sustainable architecture of Japan, which adapts to new conditions, relying on an innovative understanding of traditional solutions. At the same time, the tradition in Japanese architecture is not only reproduced at a new technological level, but also uses an updated language of shaping. The analysis of the implemented projects of Japanese architects provides a rich material for understanding the methods of creating a comfortable microclimate, achieving vivid artistic expressiveness and sustainability of modern buildings.
