Abstract
This study was undertaken during the October Revolt, a period of demonstrations, discontent with the government and confrontations between protesters and the police (Carabineros de Chile) and armed forces. We used archaeological tools to shed light on clashes between the police forces demonstrators, and on the ways this conflict took shape. Our analysis refers to locations that we call Sites of Demonstration and Protest (SDP) and Nuclei of Repression and Self-Defense (NRS).
