Abstract
Aranimermis aptispicula n. g., n. sp. (Mermithidae: Nematoda) was found parasitizing spiders (Arachnida: Araneida) of several genera in Alabama, USA. This is the first description of adult mermithids from this group of hosts. Parasitized spiders were attracted to water when the parasites were ready to emerge. The shape of the vagina and spicules are unique and separate Aranimermis from other genera in the Mermithidae. ac]19840704
