Abstract
The Sierras Marginales Catalanas (SMC) and the Eastern sector of the Ebro Basin have been surveyed with the aim of locating flint resources within this region. These resources have then been studied by petrographic (macro and microscopic characterization) and mineralogical (Xray Diffraction) methods. Results permit the scription of provenance of flint artifacts recovered in level 497C of Cova Gran de Santa Linya site. The preference for autochthonous materials (98,6% of Garumnian flint) and the finding of raw material stocks define an interesting system of lithic resources management for this unit of the Early Upper Paleolithic in the scope of Oriental Prepyrenees.

Se han recuperado 1.984 artefactos líticos, el 99,45% elaborados en sílex, que equivalen a 40,36 kg de la materia prima aportada al asentamiento (Tab. 7)
Summary
Estos datos se utilizan para determinar la procedencia de los artefactos líticos que conforman la unidad arqueológica 497C de la Cova Gran de Santa Linya (La Noguera, noreste de la Península Ibérica), atribuida al Paleolítico superior antiguo (Martínez-Moreno et al 2007; Martínez-Moreno et al 2010; Mora et al 2011). Su estudio permitirá profundizar en el conocimiento de las estrategias de captación de materias primas durante el Paleolítico superior antiguo, aspecto actualmente poco conocido en el noreste de la Península Ibérica. Esta larga diacronía sugiere que Cova Gran es un asentamiento clave para reconstruir la historia del poblamiento del noreste de la Península Ibérica durante los últimos 50.000 años (Mora et al 2011)
