Abstract
1. From the analysis of the spectral emissivity data at the wavelength of 0.65 millimicrons for refractory metals and alloys, an exponential temperature dependence has been established for the emissivity. 2. The proposed formula favors raising the accuracy to which spectral emissivity is determined and simplifies use of the results obtained, in particular on account of simplification of the form of the relation between the true temperature and the brightness temperature. 3. It would be interesting to get experimental clarification of the possibility of extending the obtained formula to other classes of materials and also to a broader range of wavelengths.
