Abstract
This brief presents an approximation-free control scheme for nonlinear helicopter systems with unknown dynamics. Without using the function approximation methods (e.g., neural network (NN) or fuzzy logic system (FLS)), the developed approximation free controller has a simple proportional-like structure, which can reduce the computational complexity, thus suitable for practical applications. Finally, comparative simulations are provided to show the effectiveness and superior performance of the proposed control scheme.
