Abstract
Approximate expressions have been obtained for the continuous slowing down approximation (CSDA) ranges of electrons and positrons in the energy region 5–1000 MeV. The expressions are valid for absorbers of atomic numbers 1–92. Values of continuous slowing down approximation ranges ( R CSDA) of electrons and positrons in elemental and compound absorbers obtained by the present approach are in agreement with theoretical values recently reported by Berger and Seltzer within a discrepancy of ±10%.
