Abstract
Web services are emerging as a promising technology for the development and deployment ofe-applications and for the effective automation ofinter-organizational interactions. Several XML standards providing infrastructure to support web services description, discovery, interaction and composition have recently emerged including (WSDL, UDDI, SOAP and BPEL). An emerging trend in the development ofe-applications on web services platforms is to separate their technology-independent and technology-specific aspects, by describing them in separate models. The most prominent development in this trend is the model-driven architecture (MDA) approach, which is being fostered by the object management group (OMG). This papers aims at applying the MDA approach for the development ofe-applications on web services platforms and presents a prototype to illustrate this approach.
