Abstract
In this paper we propose a linear programing model to determine the optimal size of Phase-Change Energy Storage (PCES) for the planning of Active Distribution System (ADS). The objective function of proposed model consists of the investment and operation cost of ADS, and the constraints consider the operating conditions of ADS and PCES. A case study based on the real peakvalley electricity price and 8760-hours cooling load in Beijing proved the effectiveness of proposed model. The economic benefit of implementing PCES in ADS is also illustrated by the numerical results.
