Abstract
This study demonstrates methods to enhance students’ knowledge, civic engagement, and social responsibility in international business education, based on community-engaged service learning. Reflecting on best practices of engaging 127 students through community-engaged service learning, we show the power of aligning course learning outcomes with real-world challenges, beyond problem-based learning. This reflection highlights the role of community-engaged service learning in academic capability building, suggesting that integrating such approaches contributes to addressing complex global challenges and nurturing socially responsible leaders. The recognition of this approach, shortlisted for the 2023 AIB T&E SIG Teaching Innovation Award, underscores its impact.
