Applied Research in Heavy Metals Pollution in Expressway Roadside Soil in China

Abstract

With the rapid development of expressway in China, soil pollution with heavy metal along expressways has become increasingly serious in the environmental system. The pollution will not only affect directly the quality and safety of agricultural products, but also endanger indirectly human health through food chain. Therefore, the environmental effect of expressway is a very worthwhile concern. A brief review concerning the occurrence, influencing factors and plant barriers of heavy metals pollution in expressway roadside soil in China is presented.
