Abstract

Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) has received significant attention in recent years and is regarded as one of the most efficient and promising polymer with applications in diversefields. This review discusses the applications of PMMA and PMMA-based materials in the field of dentistry. The use of PMMA as bone cement, denture base resin, filler, and base material has been described in detail. Also, the use of poly(methyl methacrylate) for temporary dental restorations, including implants or long-span bridges, wasstudied. Specifically, this review aims to explain the applications of poly(methyl methacrylate) in dentistry.
