Abstract

To address these challenges, healthcare organizations must be knowledge producers, consumers, and co-producers of co-created knowledge. This knowledge needs to be developed continuously, involving everyday healthcare practice and organized collaboration around organizational learning processes. In this paper, I hope to provide a scholarly contribution on this issue, along with an outline of different theoretical and practical approaches, before detailing research projects about Greece and then summarizing the lessons learned. Moreover, organizational culture in public hospitals in Greece will be examined, as the context in which learning approaches were implemented is decisive for the success or failure of that learning. Finally, the way forward will be discussed.
