Abstract

Compared with organic solvents, ionic liquids (ILs) and deep eutectic solvents (DESs), as new solvents, have a good application prospect and development potential in terms of toxicity, cost, and safety. The application in liquid–liquid extraction and the reasonable selection of solvents are discussed in this review, as a reference for the research of sustainable solvents and sustainable extraction processes. In the direction of extraction, the adhibition of ILs and DESs in molecular dynamics (MD) is also presented in this review, involving the definition of solvents and the selection of positions. This work combines molecular dynamics simulation and experiments to study ILs and DESs and their application prospects.
