Abstract

Objective To investigate value of real-time tissue ultrasonic elastography (UE) to the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant ocular tumor. Methods 68 ocular tumor patients were examined with color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI)and real-time UE respectively. The elastography and elastic scores were obtained, and were compared with the histopathological results as the diagnosis golden standard to evaluate the accuracy of elastic scores and CDFI classification in the diagnostic of benign and malignant ocular tumor. Results There was a significant difference between benign and malignant ocular tumor of CDFI and elastic scores ( P 〈0.05).Taking the elastic scores ≥4 as the standard for diagnosing malignant ocular tumor, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the elastic scores were 85.7%, 90.0%, 88.2% for malignant ocular tumor. Conclusions UE has the higher qualitation diagnosis value to ocular tumor, combined with CDFI could improve the diagnosing accuracy in ocular benign and malignant tumor.
