Abstract

Purpose. Summarize existing approaches to the use of waterproofing systems based on methyl methacrylate resin on transport structures and develop recommendations for the installation of waterproofing systems based on methyl methacrylate resin. Methodology. To achieve the goal, the work was carried out, which consists of the analysis of the existing experience in the use of waterproofing systems based on methyl methacrylate resin, the generalization of experimental studies, which made it possible to develop requirements for the physical and mechanical characteristics of the components of the waterproofing system, the provision of recommendations for the preparation the surface for the waterproofing system, development of approaches to the arrangement of the waterproofing system. Findings. Based on the conducted studies, the existing approaches to the application of waterproofing systems based on methyl methacrylate resin on transport structures were summarized and recommendations were developed for the installation of waterproofing systems based on methyl methacrylate resin. Originality. As a result of the conducted research, the requirements for the components of the waterproofing system were summarized for the first time, namely: primer, waterproofing membrane, adhesive layer. The work improved the requirements for cement-concrete and metal foundations, considering modern European requirements. The main approaches to the arrangement of the waterproofing system have been developed. Practical value. The results of the research are relevant and necessary, waterproofing systems based on methyl methacrylate resin are widely used in transport structures, but there are no general requirements for these waterproofing systems. The paper proposes generalized requirements for materials, preparation and installation of waterproofing systems based on methyl methacrylate resin on transport structures.
