Abstract

ObjectiveTo explore the application value and role of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) management mode in nursing quality and safety management of radiology department. MethodThe clinical data of 320 patients were analyzed retrospectively and were divided into control group and study group. For the control group, 160 patients received routine nursing. For the observation group, 160 patients underwent PDCA circulation nursing management. The scores for nursing quality management, the nursing satisfaction, waiting time, and adverse event occurrence for the radiology department were recorded and analyzed between 2 groups. ResultsCompared with the control group, the scores for nursing quality management and the nursing satisfaction of the radiology department were significantly increased (all p < .05), while waiting time and adverse event occurrence were obviously decreased (all p < .05). Significantly statistical differences were observed between the 2 groups. ConclusionApplying PDCA management to the nursing safety management of radiology department can effectively improve the nursing quality and safety management, improve the nursing satisfaction, and reduce waiting time and adverse event occurrence. PDCA management would exert great potential, and application value in the management of radiology department in the future.
