Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of medical simulation teaching method in resident clinical training of neurosurgery. Methods 50 residents under standardized training program in the Department of Neurosurgery of The Third Affiliated Hospital of SUN Yet-sen University between 2014 and 2016 were randomized into experimental group and control group. Medical simulation teaching method was applied in the experimental group, and traditional teaching method was applied in the control group. At the end of teaching, theoretical knowledge, clinical skills and clinical comprehensive ability were assessed. The satisfaction degree was evaluated by questionnaire. Results Exam scores of both theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in of the experimental group were significantly better than those in the control group. Residents in experimental group showed more satisfaction on teaching effects. Conclusions The medical simulation teaching method can improve the students’ theory, operation results, clinical comprehensive processing ability and satisfaction on teaching effects, which is worthy of further exploration and promotion.
