Abstract

Objective To investigate the application effect of the integration model of doctors and nurses on high-quality nursing service in the department of radiation oncology.Methods From May 2012 to October 2012,the nursing model,which included the integration of doctors and nurses,the optimization of human resources and the classification management according to nurses'abilities,were implemented in the Second People's Hospital of Sichuan.And the patient satisfaction and the improvement degree of nursing service were are compared before and after carrying out the nursing model.Results The nursing service were evaluated according to doctors,nurses and patients.There were statistically significant different between before and after carrying out the integration model of doctors and nurses at the following contents:nursing abilities [(7.86 ±0.61) vs (6.12 ± 0.47)],communication and coordination skills [(8.42 ± 0.65) vs (6.51 ±0.49)],teamwork abilities [(9.03 ±0.78) vs (6.78 ±0.52)],professional skill and care [(9.11 ±0.80) vs (7.21 ± 0.58) ; (8.15 ± 0.63) vs (6.32 ± 0.45)],and nurse-patient relationship [(7.91 ± 0.62) vs (5.78 ±0.43)],the differences were statistical significant (t =-11.235,-9.987,-8.538,-16.637,-7.651,-6.876;P < 0.05).Compared with before carrying out the integration model of doctors and nurses,patient satisfaction after carrying out the integration model of doctors and nurses improved significantly (x2 =24.335,P < 0.01).Conclusions The implementation of the high-quality nursing service,including the integration of doctors and nurses,the optimization of human resources and the classification management according to nurses'abihties,can help to improve the current status of nursing service and to increase the patient satisfaction and the nursing quality.
