Application of high quality of nursing service in psychiatric ward

Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of high quality of nursing service on increasing the life quality of patient, confidence, self-esteem and patient satisfaction in psychiatric ward .Methods Forty-eight patients in hospital in the department of psychiatry were chosen , were carried out the high quality of nursing service, that is the concept of ＂take the patient as the center＂ by way of holistic nursing, and were fully implemented the responsibility nursing in basic nursing , disease observation, treatment nursing, rehabilitation training of drug and health education .The life quality and satisfaction of patients were evaluated by quality of life scale, self esteem scale and satisfaction questionnaire before and after the implementation of high quality of nursing service activities.Results The score of psychological and social subscale in the quality of life scale was （27.33 ±22.33） three months after the implementation of high quality of nursing service activities , and was lower than （30.21 ±23.80） before the implementation, and the difference was statistically significant （t =2.054, P〈0.05）.The score of the power and energy subscale was （33.54 ±18.12） three months after the implementation, and lower than （35.86 ±18.03） before the implementation, and the difference was statistically significant （t=2.033, P〈0.05）.The score of self-esteem scale was （25.85 ±11.27） three months after the implementation, and higher than （ 23.94 ±10.88 ） before the implementation, and the difference was statistically significant （t=2.236, P〈0.05）.The score of high quality of service satisfaction questionnaire was （13.79 ±3.41） three months after the implementation , and higher than （ 11.79 ±4.64 ） before the implementation, and the difference was statistically significant （t =2.582, P 〈0.05）.Conclusions The development of high quality nursing service activities can improve the patients ＇ quality of life in the department of psychiatry, enhance their self-esteem and confidence to overcome the disease , and increase patient satisfaction.
