Abstract

The solidification and cooling processes in a domain of continuous casting belong to a group of problems called the moving boundary ones. From the mathematical point of view they are described by a system of partial differential equations (energy equations) and adequate boundary — initial conditions. It should be pointed that taking into account the complicated form of above mathematical description the application of typical analytic methods is rather impossible, and only the numerical methods allow to find the effective solution of discussed problem. In the case of continuous casting process the big number of numerical algorithms can be used [1, 2, 3], while the models using the boundary element method are presented in [4, 5, 6, 12].
