Abstract

Objective To analyze the reason f-or the delay of abdominal vertical incision healing in maternal obesity, and explore the effect of predictive nursing. Methods One hundred and one cases of maternal obesity from May 2009 to April 2011 who received conventional nursing were chosen as the control group, and 120 cases of maternal obesity from May 2011 to June 2013 who adopted predictive nursing intervention were chosen as the observation group. The reason for the delay of abdominal vertical incision healing was analyzed and healing situation as well as nursing satisfaction was compared between two groups. Results The rate of delay of abdominal vertical incision healing dropped from 7.92% to 1.66%, with statistically significant difference (x2 = 4.570,P 〈0. 05). Nursing satisfaction was 98.3% in the observation group, higher than 91.1% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (Z = -2. 319,P 〈 0. 05). Conclusions Predictive nursing intervention for maternal obesity can reduce the incidence of delay of abdominal vertical incision healing and improve nursing satisfaction, which is worthy further promotion.
