ABSTRACT Nuclear track detectors have found extensive applications in biology and medicine. These range from dosimetry and radiography to the use of filters and membranes for the collection of aerosol particles and cancer cells, to more exotic applications such as the imaging of individual chromosomes. Some of these and other biomedical applications are reviewed in this paper.
