Abstract

The present paper presents the fault detection of eccentricity using a new qualitative (and quantitative) analysis which based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT) technique. DWT method was based on analyzing the stator current. DWT coefficients of the stator current in a particular frequency band are calculated and analyzed. We used the wavelet mother of Daubechies to analyze the stator current under the eccentricity fault. But, the DWT cannot precise the type of fault. This proposes strategy based on one numerical value (Mean square error) which eliminates the vision to signals shape. This new study treats the experimental results were analyzed for induction motors under the eccentricity fault.
