Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical value of the treatment in patients with epicanthus treated by modified minimally invasive transverse internal suture and three-point double eyelid plasty. Methods A total of 300 patients with single eyelid epicanthus in the Third People’s Hospital of Datong from February 2015 to April 2018 were selected. Simultaneous modified minimally invasive transverse longitudinal suture epicanthus correction and three-point double eyelid plasty were performed in all patients. The designated senior medical staff and high-ranking medical staff completed the relevant operations. The operation and prognosis of 300 patients with single eyelid epicanthusin were recorded. The data were inputted into statistical software and analyzed accordingly. Results All the 300 patients with single eyelid epicanthus successfully completed the corresponding surgical treatment. The operation time was (49.53±6.37) min, the intraoperative blood loss was (9.10±1.55) ml; all the 300 patients with single eyelid epicanthus were followed up for 3 months after operation. Among them, 6 cases (2.00%) were lost and 294 cases (98.00%) were successfully followed up. Three months after operation, the ratio of the length of palpebral fissure increased, the distance between inner canthus and the length of palpebral fissure decreased, the distance between inner canthus decreased in 300 patients with single eyelid epicanthus compared with before treatment, with statisticat difference (P<0.05). The satisfaction of 300 patients with epicanthus of single eyelid was as high as 91.16 + 0.37. Conclusions Simultaneous modified transverse longitudinal suture epicanthus correction and three-point double eyelid plasty are effective in the treatment of epicanthus, which is conducive to ensuring the prognosis and quality of life of patients, and has important value in maintaining good doctor-patient relationship Key words: Epicanthus; Modified minimally invasive transverse longitudinal slit; Three-point double eyelid plasty; Simultaneous application
