Abstract

There is a rapid development in medical microbiology nowadays. In addition, the new-emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases still present as serious threatens to human beings. Therefore, the classical text-book-based teaching model is hard to meet the demand of teaching, clinical practice and scientific research. The literature review was applied in the course of medical microbiology to help students get advanced knowledge more efficiently and improve their analytical, summarizing, writing and communicating capacities. Students gave a very positive comment on this teaching reform. Key words: Medical microbiology; Literature review; Teaching reform
