Abstract

Objective To investigate the application of hydrogen breath test in gastrointestinal mofility assessment of patients with chronic kidney diseases. Methods A total of 92 patients with chronic kidney diseases(CKD) of 3b to 4 stage were selected(CKD group).45 health check-up individuals were selected (control group). Average frequency (AF), main power (DP), average amplitude of waveform (Vpp) and OCTT were tested for two groups. Results Compared with EGEG, there was no significant difference in the positive of delayed gastric emptying, normal gastric emptying or gastric emptying too fast for HBT(P>0.05). Before or after uptaking lactulose, OCTT was negatively correlated with AF, DP, Vpp in two groups. Conclusions HBT is a simple, reliable, safe and feasible methond for gastrointestinal motility of patients with diabetic nephropathy.
