Abstract

Objective To explore the nursing application effect of humanistic nursing care in elderly patients with multiple myeloma undergoing chemotherapy, to analyze its clinical value. Methods 60 patients with multiple myeloma treated in department of hematology of our hospital from February 2016 to May 2016 were randomly divided into control group (n=30) and study group (n=30). The control group received routine nursing mode, while the study group received humanistic nursing mode. Compared the nursing satisfaction and pain self rating score of the two groups. Results The total satisfaction rate of the control group after routine nursing was 51.01%, lower than 96.32% of the study group after humanistic nursing, with statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.01). After 3 cycles of chemotherapy, the pain score of the control group was (6.69±1.22), significantly higher than (5.01±0.24) of the study group, with statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Humanistic care can effectively reduce postoperative pain and improve patient satisfaction in elderly patients with multiple myeloma undergoing chemotherapy, with clinical significance.
