Abstract

Objective To improve the pre-service training effect for newly-employed nurses and to hence the nursing service needs of the hospital of traditional Chinese medicine .Methods Using the convenient sampling, thirty-eight newly-employed nurses of 2011 were chosen and constituted the control group , who were trained by the traditional pre-service training pattern .Another thirty-eight newly-employed nurses of 2012 were also chosen and constituted the experiment group , who were trained by the two-tier ( hospital and wards ) chain pre-service training mode .Results The scores of basic knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine , operation test and comprehensive capacities evaluation were (59.68 ±10.23), (70.13 ±7.96), (55.91 ±7.74) for the experiment group and (60.17 ±9.45), (69.85 ±8.48), (55.82 ±8.60) for the control group before training, and there were no significant differences between two groups (t=0.216, 0.148, 0.048, respectively;P〉0.05).After training, the scores of basic knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine , operation test and comprehensive capacities evaluation were (86.60 ±6.84), (87.10 ±7.25), (70.19 ±9.96) for the experiment group and (70.56 ±8.69), (72.81 ±9.28), (69.85 ±8.48) for the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (t=8.940, 7.480, 4.401, respectively;P〈0.05).The satisfaction rate of training time , content , method and resource were significantly higher in the experiment group than those in the control group (t=7.617, 35.894, 8.409, 7.999, respectively;P〈0.05).Conclusions The two-tier ( hospital and wards ) chain pre-service training mode can fully improve the clinic nursing ability of new nurses , and assist them to meet the requirements of nursing .
