Abstract

Climate change is indicated to result in drought on agricultural land. In addition, increasing dryness can also cause changes in soil acidity, and these conditions can affect the growth and content of secondary metabolites of plants. Parijoto (Medinilla veruccosa) has health benefits, including lowering blood glucose levels, inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, and is traditionally believed to increase fertility during pregnancy. GA3 and PGPRs (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) as elicitors are expected to induce and increase the production of phytoalexins and secondary metabolites. This study aimed to obtain the interaction between GA3 and PGPRs to increase the growth and antioxidant content of parijoto in acid soil. The study used a completely randomized design with two factors (GA3 25 ppm; 50 ppm; 75 ppm/plant and PGPR 2.5 g; 5.0 g; 7.5 g/l). In this study, Rowo Pening peat soil media after being given dolomite increased its pH with very high CEC, high Nitrogen, low P, and K. The results showed that the GA3 and PGPRs had no significant effect on growth. There was a positive correlation between plant height, number of leaves, and root volume. The concentration of GA3 75 ppm and PGPRs 2.5 g/l gave higher antioxidant content than other treatments.
