Abstract

A fuzzy logic controller for use in the fully digital speed control of AC servomotor systems is presented. An intelligent inverter is also proposed to reduce the switching loss and the current harmonics in induction motors. A 16 bit single-chip microprocessor is used to reduce the number of circuit components for cost reduction and reliability enhancement. In order to facilitate the instantaneous control of motor torque, indirect field orientation is adopted along with a current-regulated pulse-width-modulation voltage-source inverter. A computer simulation for assessing the feasibility of the system proposed is described. Circuit design and software development are then undertaken. Simulation results are verified experimentally. >
