Abstract

Objective: To investigate the application effect of flipped classroom teaching mode based on MOOC concept in surgical nursing teaching. Methods: According to the random number table method, the four classes of nursing undergraduate students of grade 2017 in our school of nursing were divided into two groups, 99 students in class 1 and class 2 as the experimental group, and 99 students in class 3 and class 4 as the control group. The control group used the traditional teaching mode, and the experimental group adopted the flipped classroom teaching mode based on the concept of MOOC. The assessment results, teaching effect evaluation, self-evaluation and teaching satisfaction of the two groups were compared. Results: The scores of theoretical knowledge and skill operation of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group $(P \lt 0.05)$. The evaluation of the experimental group students on the teaching effect of liking teaching methods, improving enthusiasm, facilitating knowledge integration, improving participation consciousness, stimulating learning interest, improving information literacy, and good overall effect were better than those of the control group $(P \lt 0.05)$. The self-management ability, case analysis ability, team cooperation ability and scores of information literacy of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group $(P \lt 0.05)$. The satisfaction of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (96.97 % vs 85.86 %, $P \lt 0.05)$. Conclusion: The flipped classroom teaching mode based on the concept of MOOC has good application effect in surgical nursing teaching, which can effectively stimulate students’ interest in learning, enhance students’ self-management ability and analysis ability, so as to improve students’ learning performance and teaching satisfaction.
