Abstract

For the purpose of demonstrating soluble and insoluble radioactive compounds in tissues of both experimental animals and human biopsy materials, we have developed methods forin vitro andin vivo administration of radio isotopes to tissues as well as radioautographic procedures and have applied them to the clinical electron microscopy during these past 40 years. This review summarizes the results obtained from macromolecular syntheses including those of DNA, RNA, proteins, glucides, lipids in various organ systems such as muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urogenital, nervous and sensory organs. We also summarize the results obtained from soluble compounds including inorganic substances and drugs.
