Abstract

The variance and regression analyses were applied to study the distribution and relationships between organic carbon, calcium carbonate, abiogenic matter, biogenic silica, and their accumulation depth in the upper Pliocene sediments in different structural zones of the Indian Ocean. Analysis of variance allowed us to quantify the influence of diverse facies settings on the distribution of sedimentation components. For the first time, linear and nonlinear regression models of the relationships between organic carbon, calcium carbonate, abiogenic matter, biogenic silica, and the their accumulation depth are presented.
