Abstract
Objective To explore the influence of diabetic specialized nursing clinic on standard insulin injection and initiative to access health information in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) . Methods By convenience sampling, a total of 231 T2DM patients with MCI were selected from August 2017 to August 2018 in Endocrinology Department, Affiliated Hospital of Yangzhou University, and were divided into control group (n=111) and experimental group (n=120) by random number table. The control group received conventional clinical health education and the experimental group received diabetic specialized nursing clinical education. After three months of intervention, the Insulin Pen Injection Behavior Questionnaire and Health Information Seeking Behavior (HISB) Questionnaire were used to evaluate the standard insulin injection level and the initiatives of health information seeking. Results After intervention, the score of insulin injection knowledge increased in the control group with statistical difference compared with that before intervention (P 0.05) ; in the experimental group the total score and rate of good knowledge acquisition increased compared with that before intervention and higher than the control group with statistical difference (P<0.001) . Before intervention, and three month after intervention, the score of HISB in the experimental group increased and higher than the control group with statistical differences (P<0.05) . Conclusions Diabetes specialist nursing clinic is helpful to standardize insulin injection behavior of patients with T2DM and MCI, improve the initiative to obtain health information, and hence effectively slow down the progression of disease.
