Abstract

This paper presents a hybrid analytical and metaheuristic optimization technique to find the optimal placement of the distributed generation (DG) in radial distribution system (RDS) considering annual load growth. The main objective of the placement of the DG is to minimize the power losses and improve the voltage profile with considering operation constraints. An efficient meta-heuristic technique known as coyote optimization algorithm (COA) assign the DG locations while the analytical technique calculates the size of the DGs mathematically. The obtained results are very accurate with low computational time. The proposed hybrid method is tested on IEEE 69-bus system and compared with other well-known optimization techniques. Also the obtained results prove the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.
