Abstract

Objective To evaluate the anesthetic effect and clincal value of combined spinal-epidural anesthesia (CSEA) for surgical treatment for appendicitis. Methods 80 ASA Ⅰ-Ⅱ patients with appendicitis were randomly divided into 2 groups by the SPSS based on stratified method, respectively being spinal-epidural anesthesia (CSEA) group and epidural anesthesia (EA).The anesthetic effect, duration of anesthetic induction, dosage of epidural medicine uses, and dosage of ephedrine were compared. Results As compared with EA,CSEA had a faster onset, better anesthetic effect (x2=10.85,P<0.01),higher controllability, and fewer complications (P<0.01),and quickly met the anesthetic requirements of appendectomy. Conclusions Use of combined spinal-epidural anesthesia in appendectomy is easier to operate,a reliable method of anesthesia, and worth popularizing. Key words: Combined spinal-epidural anesthesia; Epidural anesthesia; Appendectomy
