Abstract

Obective To discuss the application of clinical nursing pathway of traditional Chinese medicine on patients with limb fractures during perioperative period. Methods One hundred hospitalized patients with limb fractures from January 2010 to December 2012 were selected and randomly divided into the study group and the control group, each with 50 patients. The study group was given clinical nursing pathway, health guidance and health education of traditional Chinese medicine, while the control group received the conventional nursing. The satisfaction rates on nursing, rating scales on post-treatment quality of life, hospital stays and the health education time were compared between two groups. Results The average days in hospital and the time of health education were (7.2 ± 1.1 ) d, ( 11.5±4.1 ) h in the study group and ( 9.1 ± 1.8 ) d, ( 23.1 ±3.5 ) h in the control group, with statistically significant differences ( t = 6.23,7.51, respectively ; P 〈 0.05). The satisfaction rate of patients and families, the grasp of health knowledge and the rating of life quality was respectively (98.2 ± 4.1 ), (92.3 ±4.5 ), (165.9 ± 20.3) in the study group, better than (90.7 ± 3.9), (76.2 ±3.3 ), ( 102.7 ± 21.6) in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( t = 7.22, 12.51,9.03, respectively; P 〈 0.05). Conclusions The application of clinical nursing pathway of traditionalChinese medicine can reduce patient' s medical cost, improve nursing quality and patient' s quality of life.
