Abstract

Data retrieval algorithms for direct-detection Doppler wind Lidar still need further studies due to their great impact on filtering out noises introduced wind fluctuations for numerical prediction application. In this work, a technique based on Chebyshev approaching function for processing Doppler wind profiles in frequency domain is presented. After band-pass filtering, the wind profiles with large and small perturbations are clear distinguished. And as an example, the wind profiles obtained by a mobile Doppler Lidar from March 21 to April 18, 2011 in Beijing is compared to the data from radiosondes detection after such processing. The results show good consistency between them and demonstrate the efficient of the algorithm. Furthermore, such data processing algorithm can help to improve mes-micro scale numerical prediction accuracy.
