Abstract

In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the fields of science and technology are well-developed in Vietnam, where facility with information technology and modern modes of delivery have become a requirement for every high school teacher. Though face-to-face interaction has been the traditional form of learning, interest in online learning has grown. Technology brings a convenience, speed and cost savings, for example, but online instruction also makes it easier for learners to lose motivation and harder for them to communicate with the teacher or classmates. Blended Learning (B-Learning) offers an alternative model that leverages the best of both formats. In this article, the author will present information about the application of B-Learning in teaching and learning in high schools in Vietnam. It provides an overview of B-Learning in Vietnam, an analysis of advantages and disadvantages of B-Learning, and a look at the current situation of the B-Learning model in Vietnam through a case study of high schools in Thua Thien Hue province. The study analyzes data from a survey of 100 teachers and interviews with 25 teachers in the province. It also proposes a model for applying B-Learning in high schools in Vietnam and an introduction to one model through a high school physics class in Vietnam.
