Abstract
Purpose. To evaluate the effects of biologicals on potato biometric parameters and yield in Central Ukraine. Methods. Field, laboratory/field, statistical. Results. An increase in the plants’ biometric parameters in potato cultivar (cv.) ‘Shchedryk’ depended on biological treatment of plants during the growing period: Humifriend 1.2 L/ha, HelpRost Ovochi 5.0 L/ha, and Organic Balance 1.0 L/ha. In cv. ‘Rudolph’, the biometric parameters were increased due to the application of HelpRost B 3.0 L/ha, Organic Balance 1.0 L/ha, and HelpRost Ovochi 5.0 L/ha. In order to increase the yield of cv. ‘Shchedryk’, it is recommended to use the following agents: Humifriend 1.2 L/ha, Organic Balance 1.0 L/ha, and HelpRost Ovochi 5.0 L/ha. For cv. ‘Rudolph’, it is recommended to use HelpRost B 3.0 L/ha, Azotophyt 0.8 L/ha, and Organic Balance 1.0 L/ha. The smallest Lewis factor of 0.9 in cv. ‘Shchedryk’ was noted when this cultivar was treated with Azotophyt. In cv. ‘Rudolph’, the Lewis factor was lower (1.1) when the biologicals (Humifriend, HelpRost Ovochi, HelpRost B) were applied. Conclusions. In 2022, the potato yield was affected by cultivar ´ biological interaction (the contribution of this factor was 42.0%); other components of the technology contributed less (34.0%). In 2023, the components had the greatest impact on the potato yield (46.0%); the contribution of the biologicals was slightly smaller (39.0%). There was a strong correlation (r = 0.81 - 0.90) between yield and tuber weight in outdoor-grown cv. ‘Shchedryk’ treated with the biologicals Organic Balance, HelpRost Ca, and HelpRost B. In cv. ‘Rudolph’, a strong correlation (r = 0.72 - 0.83) between yield and tuber diameter was obtained with the biologicals Organic Balance and HelpRost Cu.
