Abstract

The H+ concentration monitoring system for the electrode surface through the electrolysis was achieved by an electrochemical slab optical waveguide (EC-SOWG) technique. The pH indicator dye, methyl red (MR) or alizarin yellow R (AYR) was covalently immobilized onto a hydrophilic polymethacrylate membrane modified on the ITO SOWG surface. In situ H+ concentration monitoring through the oxidation of ascorbic acid and GOD mediated glucose oxidation was carried out.
