Abstract

Acephate 75SP was applied to greenhouse tomatoes at several rates in a series of experiments to determine its efficacy vs. larvae of Liriomyza sativae Blanchard. In 1 experiment, external and internal foliage residues of acephate were measured at intervals after application. All application rates significantly reduced the number of completed leafmines per plans for 21 days posttreatment, but 0.015% AI was less effective than 0.03, 0.06, 0.09, and 0.12% AI. The relationship between application rate and resulting external and internal residues was not linear, but higher rates nearly always resulted in higher residues.
