Abstract

A hierarchical concept for state estimation of large-scale power systems is used. It consists of decomposing the over-all system into sub-systems and performing a two-level calculation. At a lower level, a standard state estimation is first carried out in parallel for all sub-systems and independently from each other. A coordination of these local estimations is then performed at the upper level. The present study is devoted to the exploration of the bad-data problem within the above hierarchical approach. Appropriate algorithms are proposed; their suitability is illustrated by means of a numerical example.
