Abstract

A technique for studying the stress-strain state of structural elements exposed to an aggressive liquid metal with temperatures up to 500°C was developed. Strain gauges were used to solve the problem installed on the internal and external surfaces of the equipment. The operability of measuring instruments was checked during bench tests under conditions close to operational ones. An algorithm was proposed to determine the stresses at dangerous points of the structure. The developed technique was assessed during tests of a BN-type nuclear reactor.
