Abstract

The requirement for a rig that can be used to support the teaching of automatic control to postgraduate students is discussed. The design and construction of the rig, which represents a paper-machine head box, is outlined. The application of the equipment to the subjects taught on an M.Sc. course, to student project work, and to postgraduate research work is described.
